The Sacramento Police Department has arrested Michael Johnson, 52 years old, in connection with two River City Bank robberies.
On February 15, 2012, at approximately 4:04 p.m. police responded to the River City Bank at 900 K Street regarding a robbery. The suspect made verbal demands and was given a substantial amount of cash. The suspect was described as a male, White, 60 to 70 years old. Officers conducted follow up and determined the suspect got into a taxi after the robbery and was dropped off at the Arden Fair Mall.
Units in the area located and detained Johnson while he was walking along the back parking lot of the mall. Johnson is believed to be responsible for this bank robbery in addition to a robbery committed at the same River City Bank on January 25, 2012. He is also suspected of recently robbing two banks in San Francisco and one in South Lake Tahoe. Due to the ongoing investigation, Johnson's photo is not being released at this time.
