The Sacramento Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a male, White, in his early 60s.
On February 21, 2012, at 7:18 p.m., police responded to the 6200 block of S Street regarding a shooting in a business parking lot. Upon arrival, police discovered the victim had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the upper body. Several yards away, officers located a second individual who was also fatally shot. He was described as a male, White, in his early 70s.
The Sacramento Police Department's Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigations Unit responded to investigate. It was later determined that the second subject got into a verbal altercation with the victim and a female acquaintance. Sometime during the altercation the suspect shot and killed the victim. The suspect then chased and shot at the female as she ran into the lobby of the nearby business. The suspect then returned back to the parking where he fatally shot himself.
At this time, police believe the deceased suspect acted alone and there are no outstanding suspects. All parties were known to each other prior to the shooting.
