The Criminal Justice Magnet Academies are hosting their 6^th Annual CSI Sacramento competition this Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Hiram Johnson High School, located at 6879 14^th Avenue, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

The competition is between each of the 4 Criminal Justice Magnet Academies sponsored by the Sacramento Police Department in partnership with the Sacramento City Unified School District and the Twin Rivers Unified School District encompassing: John F. Kennedy High School, Hiram Johnson High School, Grant Union High School and CK McClatchy High School.  Cadets from each of these academies will utilize their academy training in police tactics and crime scene investigation techniques to investigate a series of police related incidents commonly encountered by actual Law Enforcement officers.  The cadets will be judged on their ability to analyze and effectively apply fundamental police practices to solve complex crime related issues.  

There will be a total of 32 high school students participating in the competition with the help from volunteers and Law Enforcement Officers from the Sacramento Police Department, Elk Grove Police Department, and the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department. 

All of these cadets are enrolled in the high school Criminal Justice Magnet Academy program, which is a four-year program structured as a school within a school.  The curriculum focuses on law enforcement studies and incorporates related academic classes.
