On April 25, 2012, the Sacramento Police Department seized multiple illegal weapons, including a Light Anti-Armor Weapon, or a commonly known as a rocket launcher, from a residence in the area of 54th Street and San Francisco Boulevard.
While on routine patrol, a 10-year veteran of the Sacramento Police Department gathered information that set in motion a series of events that ultimately resulted in his patrol team obtaining a search warrant into a home. The search yielded numerous illegal and stolen weapons.
Officers seized the various weapons throughout the house, and some were hidden behind a false wall. The weapons seized were: AK-22 assault rifle, loaded Intertec Tec-9 assault pistol, sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun, 16-gauge shotgun, full-automatic Tommy gun, 8 handguns, two training/inert hand grenades, ammunition, miscellaneous parts for other weapons and a Light Anti-Armor Weapon.
The Sacramento Police Department's Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit (EOD) responded for assistance. At this time the investigation is continuing and the names of the suspects are being withheld.
