The Sacramento Police Department has determined that robbery was the motive that left four people dead inside a South Sacramento home.
On Saturday, June 9, 2012, at 10:40 p.m., police responded to the 7600 block of 18th Street regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a shootout had occurred inside the residence, leaving four people deceased. The Sacramento Police Department's Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigations Unit responded to investigate.
Detectives believe that the lone gunman, identified as Xue Lor, 26-years-old, was allowed entry into the home, demanded money from the victims and then opened fire with a handgun killing three of the occupants of the home and wounding a fourth. A fifth person inside of the home returned fire, killing Lor. The wounded occupant was later transported to an area hospital and is in critical, but stable condition.
Investigators have discovered that Lor was positively identified as a gunman in a separate uninvolved shooting that occurred only 18 hours earlier near the intersection of Ellwood Avenue and Wainscott Way. In that shooting, the 22-year-old male victim sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his lower body after Lor opened fire into the victim's vehicle. The victim's 2-year-old daughter was inside the car with him at the time of the shooting. The 2-year-old was not injured.
Lor was a high-control parolee and a validated gang member.
