The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a shooting that leaves one man in critical condition and another in police custody.
On Monday, July 23, 2012, at 9:05 p.m., officers were called to the 100 block of Stanford Avenue on a report of shooting. Officers arrived and found the 41-year-old victim on the ground with gunshot wounds to his upper body. The 50-year-old suspect was contacted at the scene, identified and taken into police custody without incident.
The suspect had reportedly shot his daughter's boyfriend multiple times. The firearm was recovered at the scene and investigators have yet to determine a motive.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded. At this time, detectives are actively investigating the circumstances that led to this incident.
