The Sacramento Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a 26-year-old male.
On August 11, 2012, at approximately 3:15 a.m., police responded to the 2500 block of Traction Avenue regarding a subject who had been shot. Upon arrival, officers located the victim with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Medical personnel arrived on scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The Sacramento Police Department's Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene. At this time, detectives are actively investigating the circumstances that led to the homicide. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation.
