On September 07, 2012 at approximately 10:18 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to a report of a dead body that was found near the 5400 block of Sandburg Drive. A volunteer search team was looking for missing person Linnea Lomax in the area of Glenn Hall Park. The team of searchers located a deceased person while in a heavily wooded area along the levee, just north of the park. The search team then notified the police.
Responding officers contacted the searchers and located what appeared to be a deceased female. Sacramento Police Department Homicide detectives were called out, as well as Crime Scene Investigators and the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office to assist in the death investigation.
Due to the advanced decomposition of the body, preliminary investigations were unable to determine cause and time of death; however, at this time no foul play is apparent.
The female is currently unidentified pending identification from the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
