On Sunday, September 16, 2012, at approximately 8:42 a.m. officers from the Sacramento Police Department were dispatched to a welfare check in the 2900 block of Holdrege Way.  Once inside the home, officers discovered the deceased bodies.

Family called into police dispatch concerned that they had not heard from the couple since Friday night. 

Family and police arrived at the home, checked windows, knocked on doors and contacted neighbors.  There were no signs of the couple until officers checked inside the home and found the deceased.  Both appeared to have sustained gunshot wounds and a firearm was recovered near the couple. 

The man in his 30s and the female in her 20s are boyfriend and girlfriend. 

Homicide detectives, along with Crime Scene Investigators, were called to the scene.  The Sacramento County Coroner's Office is assisting in the investigation and notifying next of kin prior to identification release of the deceased. 

Additional details are not available as the investigation is still ongoing.  There are no outstanding suspects at this time.
