On Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at approximately 7:44 p.m., officers responded to the 2100 block of 65th Avenue regarding reports of shots being fired. Upon arrival, officers discovered evidence of a shooting; however, no victims or suspects were located at the scene.
While responding officers began their investigation, the Communications Center received notification that a male victim in his 20’s had been transported to an area hospital after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. The victim eventually succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Very shortly after the first victim arrived at the hospital, a second victim was admitted after sustaining non-life threatening gunshot wounds to his lower body. The second victim to arrive at the hospital is described as a juvenile in his late teens.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators are actively investigating the case. Additional details are not available as the investigation is still ongoing.
