The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man dead.
On December 20, 2012 at approximately 10:59 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to reports of gunshots on the 2700 block of Meadowview Road. Witnesses in the area saw a subject on the ground after hearing the gunfire.
Officers arrived and found a male Black adult in his early twenties with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was unresponsive and laying in the area of an apartment parking lot. Sacramento Fire Department personnel arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded and are actively investigating the circumstances that led to this incident. Preliminary information gathered by responding officers revealed there may have been an argument in the area of the scene, at or about the time of the shooting.
At this point in the investigation, there is no known motive to the shooting and this continues to be an ongoing investigation.
