The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a deadly home invasion robbery.

On Saturday, December 22, 2012, at 3:29 a.m., police responded to the area of Haven Court and Greenhaven Drive regarding reports of a shooting. Upon arrival officers quickly discovered that an exchange of gunfire had occurred between the homeowner and multiple suspects involved in a robbery.

One of the robbery suspects was fatally wounded and pronounced dead at the scene by Sacramento Fire Department personnel. Three other people were shot during the incident and sustained non-life threatening injuries. The homeowner was among the three injured and was transported to an area hospital by medics.

The Sacramento Police Department's Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigations Unit responded to investigate. At this time, detectives are actively investigating the circumstances that led to the deadly incident.
