On Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at approximately 4:20 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to Del Paso Boulevard and Southgate Road on a report of two subjects who had been stabbed. Officers arrived and found two female victims in their twenties suffering from multiple potentially life-threatening stab wounds.
At this time it is believed that an altercation occurred involving the occupants of two vehicles. The incident appears to have been a "road rage" that started in the area of eastbound Interstate 80 and southbound Interstate 5. The victims pulled over in the area of Garden Highway and Northgate Blvd, exited their vehicles, and became involved in a physical altercation with the occupants of the second car. During the incident, the victims were stabbed multiple times. After the assault, the victims got back into their car, drove to the area of Del Paso Blvd and Southgate Road and called the police. The suspects reportedly got back into their vehicle and were last seen heading north on Northgate Blvd. Detectives believe that Suspect #1 may be the mother of Suspect #2.
