The Sacramento Police Department has arrested 27-year-old Willis Lilly for the murder of his four-month-old nephew Demosphesis King.
On Friday, January 11, 2013, at approximately 7:02 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department was called to the 7800 block of Summersdale Drive by the Sacramento Fire Department administering medical aid to the unresponsive four-month-old victim. The child was transported to an area hospital where he later died. The coroner was called out and concluded that an autopsy would be needed to determine the child's cause of death.
The preliminary investigation revealed that suspect Lilly was caring for his nephew at the Summersdale address while the child's parents were out of town. During the early morning hours of Friday, January 11, 2013, Suspect Lilly's roommate summoned medical assistance for the victim who was reportedly not breathing.
A later autopsy revealed that the victim died from blunt force trauma to the head. Detectives believe that the victim sustained traumatic internal injuries early Friday morning on January 11, while in the immediate care of suspect Lilly.
Thursday, February 14, 2013, suspect Lilly, pictured below, was taken into custody and booked for the death of his nephew.
