The Sacramento Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting that left one man dead.
On Friday, March 22, 2013, at approximately 4:06 a.m., officers responded to the area of 35th Street and 26th Avenue regarding reports of sounds of gunfire in the area. Witnesses also reported a man lying in the street.
Officers quickly arrived and found the male Black adult victim in his 20’s on 35th Street just south of 26th Avenue. The unresponsive victim appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Sacramento Fire Department personnel also responded and declared the victim deceased at the scene. Homicide investigators and CSI were called out to assist with the investigation.
At this time there is no known motive for this deadly shooting and detectives continue to investigate this incident. A dark sedan was observed in the area around the time of the shooting, and is believed to possibly be involved.
Detectives are asking anyone with information to please contact police as they attempt to determine the circumstances surrounding this case.
