On Friday, April 19, 2013, at approximately 7:53 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 600 block of Plaza Avenue regarding reports of a subject shot.
Officers arrived and located the Black male adult victim near the courtyard area of an apartment complex. The victim was determined to be in his twenties and appeared to have suffered at least one gunshot wound to his upper body. Just after 8:00 p.m. fire department personnel pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
It is unknown at this time what precipitated the deadly shooting. The initial investigation by responding officers revealed witnesses that heard multiple shots being fired.
Sacramento Police Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were called out to assist with the investigation. There is no known motive at this time and no arrests related to this incident have been made.
