The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a double shooting that left a male victim in his early 50s fatally injured.
On Friday, May 24, 2013, at 11:09 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire on the 6100 block of Stockton Blvd. Upon arrival responding officers located a male adult victim suffering from an apparent non-life threatening gunshot wound to the lower body. A short while later another shooting victim was located and determined to be suffering from critical gunshot injuries. Sacramento Fire personnel declared the fatally injured victim deceased at the scene.
The initial investigation revealed the two victims were approached by two armed suspects brandishing firearms. It appears at this time the suspects were attempting to rob the victims who were shot during an effort to flee from the armed men. The two suspects were seen fleeing the area on foot immediately after the incident.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene to assist with the ongoing investigation. The two suspects are both described as being male black, thin build and in their late teens.
