The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one adult male fatally injured.
On Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 11:31 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 6600 block of Mack Road. Upon arrival responding officers located three subjects that had been shot. Two of the injured were transported to an area hospital to be treated for non-life threatening gunshot wounds. The third victim, a male Black adult in his twenties, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the victims were in the parking lot of a gas station when they exchanged words with subjects in another vehicle. One suspect produced a handgun and fired multiple rounds at the victims and their vehicle. The suspect vehicle fled the scene moments after the shooting.
Sacramento Police Homicide detectives and Crimes Scene Investigators were called to the scene to assist with the investigation. Multiple witnesses were contacted at the scene and no other injuries were reported.
