The Sacramento Police Department has arrested 27-year-old Kenneth Barnette in the shooting death of Darryl Hill.
On Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 11:31 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 6600 block of Mack Road. (Press Release #20130615-091) Initial responding officers located victim Hill who had been fatally injured in a gas station parking lot. Two additional adult shooting victims, found at the scene, were treated and released from an area hospital. Just prior to the shooting, the victims, along with a one-year-old child who was not injured, had arrived at the gas station in the same vehicle.
On Wednesday, June 26, 2013, Sacramento Police located suspect Barnette (pictured below) in a neighboring jurisdiction where he was taken into custody at a family member’s house.
Several witnesses were interviewed by responding officers and detectives over the course of this investigation. Detectives developed information, based on the eye witness accounts and evidence collected at the scene, which ultimately led to Barnette’s arrest. There are no other suspects outstanding in this case.
