The Sacramento Police Department is asking for the community's help in identifying two robbery suspects.
On Sunday, July 21, 2013, at 4:34 p.m., a 74-year-old victim was standing with her husband in front of a restaurant on Second Street near L Street. Two male suspects approached the victim, grabbing her purse from her shoulder. The force knocked the woman to the sidewalk, causing serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The victim was transported to an area hospital where she was treated.
The suspects fled westbound over the Tower Bridge into a neighboring jurisdiction. They were captured on surveillance video just prior to the incident and fleeing the area with the victim's purse (see attached photos).
Both suspects are described as black men in their early 20s, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall with a medium build. One suspect was described as wearing a black and silver hat, grey and white horizontal striped t-shirt and blue jean shorts. The second suspect was wearing a black and red baseball hat, black t-shirt and black and red shorts.
This is an ongoing investigation and detectives are looking for any witnesses to the incident or anyone who may recognize the suspects.
