The Sacramento Police Department has arrested 24-year-old Theresa Gooch for sex acts with a minor.
In June of 2013, the Sacramento Police Department began an investigation into the alleged misconduct of Theresa Gooch (pictured below) with a 16-year-old female victim residing at the Children’s Receiving Home. During the investigation it was found that a relationship occurred from September 2012 and continued through February of 2013. During that time Gooch was employed as a counselor at the Receiving Home in the 3500 block of Auburn Boulevard. Gooch has since been placed on administrative leave.
Gooch was found to have inappropriately touched the victim as well as developed a relationship with her, which prompted the investigation. The Sacramento Police department worked in coordination with the California Department of Social Services during the course of this investigation.
On Wednesday, August 14, detectives, in conjunction with the Sacramento District Attorney’s Office, obtained a warrant for Gooch’s arrest. Gooch was taken into custody the same day and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for multiple sex offenses with a person under the age of eighteen; charges to include Oral Copulation, Attempted Oral Copulation and Molestation of a Minor.
