Sacramento, Ca – Today, November 26, 2013, members of the Sacramento Police Department purchased and presented Thanksgiving dinner to four well deserving families.
The families were identified through the Sacramento Police Department’s Cops and Clergy program – a partnership with neighboring faith based groups to mentor at-risk youth. Officers from the North Gang Enforcement Team, North Crime Suppression Unit and the Executive Team of the William J. Kinney Police Facility provided funding for event.
Starting this year, the unique community outreach program of Cops and Clergy was developed to make lasting positive impacts with at-risk youth throughout the City of Sacramento. Today’s gift from the officers and area command staff will help build partnerships with the community in an ongoing effort to Make Sacramento the Safest Big City in California.
