On Monday, December 23, 2013, at approximately 3:42 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 2500 block of Beaumont Street on a report of shots fired. An additional caller reported that a subject had been shot. Officers arrived on scene and located a man in his 20s with a gunshot wound laying in the front yard of a triplex.
Sacramento Fire Department personnel responded and despite lifesaving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded and conducted a preliminary investigation, spoke with witnesses, photographed the scene and collected evidence. It is still unclear what motivated this shooting and investigators are asking for the public’s help in gathering information.
