On Saturday, January 25, 2014, at approximately 10:02 p.m., officers responded to the area of Hermosa Street and 47^th Avenue after multiple calls were received of shots fired and a subject down. 

Officers rushed to the residential neighborhood to find a male victim near the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The Sacramento Fire Department also responded and determined the victim, in his 20s, had been fatally injured and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  

Homicide detectives were called to the scene along with Crime Scene Investigators to assist with the investigation.  Responding officers determined that the victim was shot as he was standing near the edge of the street.  Detectives believe that multiple involved subjects fled on foot just after the shooting. 

No other injuries were reported and this investigation continues to be ongoing.
