Suspect in Fatal Collision Arrested

The Sacramento Police Department has arrested Floyd Martin, 57, for Gross Vehicular Manslaughter While Intoxicated.

On Thursday, February 13, 2014, at approximately 10:53 a.m., officers responded to the 2900 block of Riverside Boulevard regarding two vehicles involved in a collision.  It was determined that Martin was driving his vehicle northbound on Riverside Boulevard when his car struck another vehicle entering the roadway.   The driver of the other vehicle was fatally injured as a result of the collision and pronounced deceased at the hospital a short time later. 

Martin was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries and has now been declared fit-for-incarceration. 

An adult passenger in the victim’s vehicle was also hospitalized for serious injuries he sustained during the collision.

Today, March 6, 2014, Martin was released from the hospital and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for the above charge.
