The Sacramento Police Department is seeking the community's help in solving the murder of Mrs. Line Withrow.
Eight years ago, April 28, 2006, at approximately 3:19 p.m., Mrs. Line Withrow was returning home after a day of shopping. Mrs. Line Withrow was a sixty-seven year-old, retired occupational therapist. According to her husband, she did not have a mean bone in her body.
On that day, Mrs. Withrow was walking down the sidewalk near the intersection of 37th and P Street, when a vehicle drove up next to her. Without provocation, the unknown, knife wielding assailant got out of his vehicle and ran up to Mrs. Withrow. The two began to struggle over her purse. The assailant stabbed Mrs. Withrow repeatedly with the knife. Mrs. Withrow was taken to a local hospital and died two days later from the injuries she sustained from the attack.
The Sacramento Police Department has exhausted all investigative leads and is calling upon the community to come forward with any information that may help in the arrest and conviction of the suspect in this case.
The robbery involving the death of Mrs. Withrow was believed to be connected to (3) additional robbery that occurred just prior to her murder.
Sacramento Homicide Detectives have contacted outside agencies, met with a Violent Crime Consultant and received authorization for a $50,000 California Governor's reward for information relating to the murder of Mrs. Withrow.
