Broadway/19th Street Fatal Stabbing

On Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at 8:57 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing on the corner of Broadway and 19th Street. Officers arrived on scene and found an Asian man in his early 30s lying in the roadway near the intersection. The victim had what appeared to be a stab wound to his upper body.

Fire personnel arrived on scene, rendered aid and transported the victim to UCD medical center where he later succumbed to his injury.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and extended family members were inside a local restaurant on Broadway when a group of several males entered and sat down. An altercation ensued between the victim and the group. The victim and family decided to leave. Once outside the restaurant, the other group also exited and assaulted the victim. During the fight the victim was stabbed with an unknown object.

The suspects fled prior to police arriving at the intersection.
