Homicide on Mint Street

On Monday, June 16, 2014 at approximately 11:40 p.m., Sacramento Police Officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired with a subject down.

Police responded to the area of 300 block Mint St. and found a male subject in his 20s who had been shot multiple times.  Officers found him in a yard and began CPR, however he was later declared deceased at the scene by fire personnel.

Unknown motive at this point and we are continuing to investigate, yet haven't ruled out possible gang activity.   Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded and are contacting witnesses and delving into the case.

Preliminary investigation found that after the victim left a family member's home he was chased through the complex by multiple unknown assailants when he was confronted and shot.
