On Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 7:50 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to a report of a shooting near 24th St and Meadowview Road. Officers arrived and located a female in her 40s who was not shot, but stabbed in the upper body and lying on the sidewalk.
Fire personnel responded and transported the female victim to an area hospital where she later died of her stab wound.
Homicide detectives along with Crime Scene Investigators arrived to assist in the investigation. Officers and detectives are actively pursuing the case and believe the victim and suspect are known to each other. No suspect is in custody at this time.
