The Sacramento Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying an assault suspect.  Two incidents, that are believed to be related, have occurred in the same area of the city:

On Monday, August 18, 2014, a 61-year-old Asian man was walking on U Street near 10^th Street when the suspect, walking in the opposite direction, stabbed him in the neck.  The victim received a non-life threatening injury that was treated at an area hospital later that day. 

On Monday, August 25, 2014, the same suspect is believed to have approached a second person in the area of 10^th and T Streets.  The suspect walked up behind the 75-year-old male victim and stabbed him in his neck. The victim was transported to an area hospital and has since been released after being treated for his injury. 

The suspect is described as a male Black adult with a medium build and short black hair.  He is believed to be between the ages of 30 to 50 years old, and 5 feet 7 inches to 6 feet in height.  A composite sketch (see below) of the suspect was generated and detectives are asking anyone who may have information to please call the Sacramento Police Department.

Both victims in the above incidents are Asian men and detectives are not ruling out the possibility that the victims’ race or age were factors in the assaults.
