On Sunday, September 14, 2014 at approximately 9:17 p.m., Sacramento Police Officers were dispatched to Franklin Boulevard at the request of the Sacramento Fire Department. Fire was on scene of a medical aid call and found that the subject had obvious signs of trauma to the upper body and he was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officers arrived and began their investigation. They found that victim who is a black male adult in his late teens to early twenties, was found lying on the east sidewalk of Franklin Boulevard just north of Whisper Wood Way by three pedestrians walking nearby.
At this time the motive for this assault is unknown and we are continuing to investigate. Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded, have contacted the witnesses, canvased the area for evidence and are delving into the case.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office is assisting in the investigation.
