Hit and Run on Raley Boulevard

On Monday, October 13, 2014, at approximately 2300 hours, the Sacramento Police Department responded to a hit and run accident involving a bicyclist.  The bicyclist sustained major injuries in the collision and the police needs your help in finding the vehicle that left the scene.

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigations Unit responded and found that the 46-year-old bicyclist was traveling in the southbound lane of Raley Boulevard near Ascot Avenue.  It does not appear that the bike had any lights on it and the bicyclist was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle.

The bicyclist was transported by Sacramento fire personnel to an area hospital with head and internal injuries.  A number of witnesses stopped to assist the bicyclist, however we are still looking for other witnesses or information on the vehicle that was involved in the collision.

Crime Scene Investigators arrived and evidence was collected at the scene.

The Sacramento Police Department urges anyone with information about this hit and run to contact Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357) or text in a tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
