On Monday, November 10, 2014 at 10:00 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department, at the request of the Sacramento Coroner's Office, responded to Kaiser Hospital on a report of a death of a two year old child.
The Sacramento Fire Department had responded to a medical aid call in the 7600 block of Teekay Way. The child was transported to the hospital and given immediate medical attention, however, due to her condition, she was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Due to unusual circumstances surrounding the death, homicide detectives arrived at the hospital and began their investigation which included contacting and interviewing family members. The investigation is still very active.
The Sacramento Police Department is working collectively with Sacramento County's Coroner's Office who will determine the cause of death. Child Protective Services is also involved in the case.
