On Friday, December 5, 2014, at approximately 5:40 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1400 block of 68th Avenue regarding a report of a deceased subject inside the home.
Two friends grew concerned when they did not hear back from the victim, prompting them to check on the man. The victim was discovered inside his home and emergency crews rushed to the scene.
The Fire Department was first to arrive on scene and advised they could smell Natural Gas coming from inside the house. Sacramento Fire Department Hazmat Team arrived and rendered the home safe to enter. The adult male victim was declared deceased on scene by fire personnel.
Once inside, officers observed signs of foul play and Homicide Detectives were summoned to the scene. CSI also responded to assist with processing the scene.
This appears to be an isolated incident and a specific motive has not yet been determined.
