The Sacramento Police Department is asking for the community’s help with information regarding a hit-and-run vehicle collision. On Friday, January 23, 2014 at approximately 11:36 p.m., a woman was walking eastbound on Arcade Boulevard near Palmer Street when a vehicle left the roadway, striking the pedestrian. The vehicle continued driving westbound on Arcade and immediately fled the area. Responding officers discovered the victim down in the roadway with serious injuries. Sacramento Fire personnel rushed the victim to an area hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries. Sacramento Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit responded to the scene to conduct the collision investigation. Crime Scene Investigators also arrived to assist with documenting the scene and collection of evidence. At this time it is believed that the suspect vehicle is a 2000 to 2004, dark gray, Ford Taurus. The hit-and-run vehicle is missing the passenger side mirror and may have significant damage to the hood and windshield due to the collision.
