Today, January 27, 2015, the Sacramento Police Department placed 20-year-old ILaya Prozorov, a non-sworn probationary employee, on paid administrative leave after he was arrested in the City of West Sacramento. Prozorov has been booked for impersonating a peace officer, while off duty, and a criminal investigation is currently underway.
The Sacramento Police Department immediately launched an internal investigation into the alleged actions of Prozorov, who has been employed as a civilian Community Service Officer (CSO) for just over one month. Prozorov is currently in field training as a CSO and graduated from the Sacramento Police Department’s Basic Recruit Academy in December of 2014.
The Sacramento Police Department holds our employees to the highest standards on and off-duty. This incident is not reflective of the dedicated men and women who serve our community every day.
