The Sacramento Police Department has arrested 42-year-old Kareem Mitchell for sexual assault of a minor.
In September 2014, The Sacramento Police Department received a report of an alleged sexual relationship, initiated by Mitchell, which occurred several years prior, and involved a minor in his late teens. The now adult victim indicated the relationship began in 2005 and ended in 2008. The investigation revealed that Mitchell met the victim while working as a choir director at the New Testament Baptist Church in North Highlands.

On Tuesday, February 03, 2015, Sacramento Police detectives, in conjunction with the Sacramento District Attorney’s Office obtained a warrant for Suspect Mitchell’s arrest. Later that same day, Mitchell (depicted below) was taken into custody at police headquarters after being interviewed by detectives. He was then transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail and booked for multiple charges to include sodomy, oral copulation, and other sexual acts.
