On March 5, 2015, at approximately 10:24 a.m., officers responded to the 7900 block of La Riviera Drive regarding a report of a subject who appeared deceased.
Officers arrived to find the victim, a male in his 30s, who had apparently sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Sacramento Fire Department Medics also responded under the overpass where the man was located and declared the victim deceased.
Homicide detectives were summoned along with Crime Scene Investigators to the scene.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a report of shots fired was received in the general vicinity last night, March 4, 2015, at approximately 11:15 p.m. Officers responded to the area of where the shots were heard, but were unable to locate a victim or any evidence indicating a gun was fired.
A specific motive for the shooting is not yet known and detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.
