The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a shooting that sent a juvenile to the hospital.
On Thursday, March 12, 2015, at approximately 3:26 p.m., officers responded to the area of Norwood Avenue and Silver Eagle Road regarding a 15-year-old, male who was shot as he was seated in a vehicle. Three other occupants were believed to be in the victim’s vehicle at the time of the shooting.
Fire personnel responded and transported the victim to an area hospital where he is considered to be in critical condition.
Homicide Detectives as well as Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene to process the evidence and contact witnesses. Anyone who was in the area or who may have information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact police.
Detectives believe that shots were possibly fired from a vehicle that fled the scene immediately after the shooting. One of the gunshots struck the victim in the head. The victim’s vehicle drove southbound on Norwood Avenue stopping at a nearby grocery store parking lot at the 2800 block of Norwood Avenue.
The suspect vehicle is described as a green, four-door, American made car with silver after-market rims.
