The Sacramento Police Department is seeking the community’s help with information regarding a fatal pedestrian collision.
On Saturday, April 11, 2015, at approximately 1:25 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department along with the Sacramento Fire Department responded to the area of Franklin Boulevard and Armadale Way regarding reports of a pedestrian found lying in the roadway.
Upon arrival, 65-year-old Collis Carkhum, who had been struck by an unknown vehicle, was located in the southbound lanes of Franklin Boulevard with life-threatening injuries. Medical personnel transported the victim to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Sacramento Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit was called to the scene and found several broken vehicle parts that were chrome in color.
Further investigation revealed that the parts belong to the passenger side front grille of a1999 to 2002 Chevrolet Silverado or a 2000 to 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban.
Detectives believe that there may be additional damage to the passenger side front corner of the suspect vehicle and are requesting the community’s help in providing more information on this active investigation.
