On Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 11:03 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department received a call regarding a man who had been shot at a residence near the 3600 block of 38th Street.
Responding officers quickly arrived at the home and found the 45-year-old unresponsive victim who had suffered an apparent gunshot injury to his chest. Sacramento Fire Department medical personnel arrived on scene and pronounced the man deceased.
Homicide detectives along with Crime Scene Investigators were called to the scene. Detectives contacted witnesses, including family members of the victim, inside of the home. They also canvassed the area, and began investigating the circumstances surrounding this fatal shooting.
During the preliminary investigation, detectives identified a potential suspect and are actively investigating the incident.
