On Friday, June 12, 2015, at approximately 3:35 a.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of Broadway regarding multiple reports of gunfire in the area.
When officers arrived, they found a male adult gunshot victim inside a vehicle parked in the middle of Broadway. The victim, a male in his late 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Sacramento Fire Personnel.
An adult female occupant of the same vehicle was also struck with gunfire and taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives arrived, along with Crime Scene Investigators, and began processing the scene. A preliminary investigation revealed that this was not a random act and detectives are diligently following up on all available leads.
At this time, there is no indication that this incident is related to other recent shootings in neighboring jurisdictions.
