On Sunday, June 28, 2015, at 11:12 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department received a report of a man found lying in the roadway following the sound of gunfire on Auburn Boulevard near Marconi Circle.
An unresponsive male, in his 20s, was located by responding officers and pronounced deceased at the scene by the Sacramento Fire Department.
Homicide Detectives along with Crime Scene Investigators were summoned and began processing the scene for evidence.
Detectives believe that the victim was confronted and possibly chased on foot in the area by two unknown men just prior to the fatal shooting. The suspects fled on foot immediately after the incident and were last seen running westbound on Marconi Circle toward Highway 80.
The investigation continues to be ongoing and a specific motive is still not yet known. No arrests have been made at this time.
