You are invited to help us celebrate the grand reopening of the William J. Kinney Police Facility Public Counter, this Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at 5:30 p.m. 

It is our distinct honor to have Mayor Kevin Johnson, Vice Mayor Allen Warren and our own Sacramento Chief of Police Sam Somers Jr. in attendance at Wednesday’s event. 

Please join us and meet area officers, community based organizations and the newly assigned public counter staff.  Hamburgers, hotdogs and ice cream will be served while supplies last; between 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Music will be set up in the front parking lot of the station located at 3550 Marysville Boulevard in North Sacramento.

The Sacramento Police Department is excited to be able to reinstate this vital service to the community of North Sacramento.  On October 23, 2008, when Kinney’s public counter closed, we recognized that it was not a set-back, but in fact, a set-up for the improved level of service provided today.

Our efforts to protect our community are most effective when we have meaningful and trusting relationships with those whom we serve.  The reopening of the public counter as a part of the Mayor’s Officer Next Door initiative is key to ensuring we continue to be engaged in the community we are sworn to protect.    

Beginning Monday August 10, 2015, the front counter will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The counter will be able to provide a number of services including:

·         Taking reports

·         Sign-off of traffic citations

·         Release of towed/repossessed vehicles

·         Clear traffic/city code violation warrants and issue court dates

·         Property booking

·         Receive report supplements

·         Accept fees/forward Record Clearance Letters

·         Accept fees/forward Alarm Permits

·         Conduct on-line transactions in the lobby

Sacramento Police employees of the William J. Kinney Police Facility are looking forward to meeting and servicing North Sacramento.
