The Sacramento Police Department is requesting the community’s assistance in identifying the driver of a vehicle that fled the scene of a hit-and-run near Meadowview Road and Shining Star Drive.
On Saturday, August 22, 2015, at approximately 10:36 p.m., Officers responded regarding a report of a hit-and-run vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. Further information received indicated that the collision occurred in the eastbound lanes of Meadowview Road.
Upon arrival, officers found the unresponsive 36-year-old man lying in the roadway along the south side of Meadowview Road. Sacramento Fire Department personnel rushed to the scene and transported the man to the hospital where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
The Sacramento Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit also responded and are handing the case.
During a preliminary investigation, it was determined that the vehicle involved in the collision is believed to be an unknown model Toyota.
Detectives are still working to determine the cause of this collision. Investigators are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Sacramento Police Department via the Hit-and-Run Tip line at (916) 808-3060.
