On Monday, October 19, 2015, at 8:35 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department received a report of a man found unresponsive near the 400 block of Jibboom Street. Sacramento Fire personnel initially arrived on scene and located the 34-year-old man, who appeared to have sustained trauma to his upper body. Responding officers also arrived and fire personnel pronounced the victim deceased. Homicide Detectives along with Crime Scene Investigators were summoned to the scene for assistance. Investigators processed the scene, collected evidence, and canvassed the area. Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives believe the victim had been involved in a physical altercation with an unknown suspect which resulted in fatal injuries. The suspect then fled from the scene prior to police arrival. A specific motive has not been determined, the investigation continues to be on-going, and no arrests have been made at this time.
