The Sacramento Police Department has arrested 28-year-old James Tran for the attempted murder of United States Air Force Staff Sergeant Spencer Stone.
On October 8, 2015, Staff Sergeant Stone had been out with four friends at “Badlands”, a local Sacramento nightclub, in the 2000 block of K Street. Just after midnight, Stone was stabbed multiple times during a physical altercation.

During the course of the investigation, detectives interviewed a number of witnesses and received information from the community that ultimately led to the identification of suspect Tran (pictured below).
This morning, Tran was taken into custody by Sacramento Police detectives in Elk Grove, California after an arrest warrant was issued by the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office, for the charge of Attempted Murder.
