The Sacramento Police Department arrested 39-year-old Jesus Tonkin for sexual battery charges on August 13, 2015.  

In September 2014, the Sacramento Police Department received a report of an alleged sexual assault that occurred at a local area hospital between a nurse and patient.  The investigation revealed that Tonkin, a nurse, allegedly sexually assaulted a patient who was under his care. 

On Thursday, August 12, 2015, Sacramento Police detectives, in conjunction with the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office obtained a warrant for Tonkin’s arrest. The next day, Tonkin (pictured below) was taken into custody without incident by detectives.  Tonkin was transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail and booked for sexual battery and penetration by a foreign object.  Tonkin was placed on administrative leave by the local area hospital he was employed by at the time he was arrested.
