The Sacramento Police Department is proud to announce the graduation of Academy Class 2015 BR-2.
The 2015 graduating class consists of 42 recruits, 30 of which will be sworn in as Sacramento Police Officers. These recruits will increase the total number of sworn police officers serving the community throughout the city to 668. The remaining 12 recruits will enter training with outside agencies throughout the local region.
The Sacramento Police Department continues efforts to diversify its sworn officers to further reflect the community in which it serves. SPD has been actively recruiting sworn and non-sworn personnel with assorted experiences and backgrounds. We believe this diversity helps develop and maintain crucial relationships within the community and builds lasting partnerships between the department and neighborhood organizations. Fostering those relationships will help place the department in the best position to reflect the community we serve while maintaining the high standards that SPD demands.
Please join us in congratulating these recruits tonight for the graduation ceremony. The graduation will be held on December 17, 2015, at the Memorial Auditorium, 1400 J Street. The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m.
