Today, January 15, 2016, marks the 35-year anniversary of the unsolved murder of 17-year-old Mary London.
On January 14, 1981, Mary London, (pictured below) a developmentally disabled student who attended Sacramento High School was reported missing after she failed to show up for a scheduled ride after school. She was last seen near the school at approximately 3:30 p.m.
The next morning, (January 15, 1981) Mary’s body was discovered near San Juan Road and Airport Road with multiple stab wounds. To this day, the motive for the murder is unknown.
Detectives are asking for the community’s help in identifying a friend of the victim by the name “Darrell.” He is described as a male black adult, who would now be approximately 57-58 years old. Darrell is not a suspect; however detectives would like to speak with him.
Over the years, investigators have revisited this case in an attempt to identify the suspect(s) involved in Mary’s death. Investigating detectives believe that there are people in the community that have information about this crime and encourage them to come forward.
